International Fraud Awareness Week, from November 16 till 20, 2020
For the second year in a row in Croatia, International Fraud Awareness Week is being organized, in the period from November 16 till 20, 2020. The event is organized by Deloitte Croatia, in cooperation with numerous partners, and is held under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Croatia, Zoran Milanović. Lectures and panel discussions during this event will be held in a virtual and hybrid way, so the participants will be able to access it via the internet.
INsig2 Director Goran Oparnica will participate in a panel on topic “New safe – doing business in the world of cyber frauds”, which is held on November 17, 2020, from 10:15 till 11:15. Panel members will provide insight about current business opportunities and key moves that organizations or companies must conduct in order to protect themselves against exterior or interior perpetrators. Association of Certified Fraud Examiners organized first International Fraud Awareness Week in 2000
International Fraud Awareness Week was organized for the first time in 2000, by Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, and since then, hundreds of organizations have joined this initiative with the goal of raising awareness about the necessity to fight against fraud and corruption. Apart from Croatia, countries in the surrounding Bosnia & Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Slovenia, and Serbia participate in these activities as well.
This year, numerous events have been planned, where the best experts from different business field, through their personal examples, best business methods, and quality discussion, will open a dialogue on the exposure of the Croatian economy to corruption, fraud and financial crime.
